The seminars are designed to obtain and consolidate modern knowledge of epidemiology, clinics of infectious diseases, tropical diseases with particular emphasis on infection with hepatotropic viruses.
The principles applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, tropical diseases will be presented, taking into account the subjective examination, physical examination, interpretation of diagnostic test results leading to a proper diagnosis and treatment,
The principles of isolation of infectious or suspected infectious disease, tropical disease, applied in practice will be discussed.
DESCRIPTION:
Activities in "Infectious Diseases with a focus on tropical diseases" are taught through seminars and exercises.

(HBV, HCV, SARS).
14. Choroby zakaźne wieku dziecięcego (krztusiec, płonica, ospa wietrzna i półpasiec, mononukleoza, świnka, zakażenia enterowirusowe).

EXERCISES are dedicated to the discussion of seminar topics on the basis of specific cases in order to acquire practical skills. As part of the exercises, students examine patients both subjectively and physically, plan and conduct differential diagnosis and plan therapeutic management. They acquire skills in dealing with a suspected infectious/tropical disease or an infectious patient by becoming familiar with the principles of isolation, physical examination, collection, storage and transportation of diagnostic material. They become familiar with modern diagnostics of infectious diseases and tropical diseases.

Assessment criteria
departments and positive grades from seminars - written or oral test ( credit > 60%). The requirement to pass the exercises is active participation in the scheduled classes and the passing of practical skills (practical pass mark system 0-1). During the exercises, prolonged observation of the student is carried out to assess social competence ( credit >50%). The prerequisite for taking the module exam is to pass the didactic classes in accordance with the established learning outcomes.
A written or oral pass ( >60%): W1-W11, U1. Practical test ( 0-1 credit system): W4-W11, U1-U3.
Medical history scoring:
1. taking a detailed medical interview with the adult or child patient (score 0-20)
2. proper physical examination (score 0-20)
3. analysis of diagnostic tests (score 0-20)
4. differential diagnosis of the disease entity (score 0-20)
5. proposal of the treatment direction of the patient ( score 0-20)
Prolonged follow-up (scale of 0-10; >60%): K1- K5
The student(s) will receive credit for the course by obtaining positive results from seminars and exercises, as well as positive marks in social competence, which is a condition for taking the module exam.
Students take the module exam right after the block or during the examination session. The condition for eligibility for the exam is prior completion of compulsory classes in the form of a formative assessment ( achievement of the relevant learning outcomes assigned to the course). Passing exams during the period provided for classes in other subjects is excluded.
The examination assesses the required learning outcomes: knowledge and skills in accordance with the content of the Syllabus and recommended literature.
The module exam consists of a part and theoretical part.
Conversion of the percentage of correct answers in the theoretical part - to the grading scale is as follows.:
