Selected Speciality - Family Medicine
1655-Lek6SP9-J
The exercises are devoted to the analysis of the most common clinical cases in the practice of a family doctor (patients with respiratory tract infections, cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, diabetes, lipid metabolism disorders), the rules of doctor-patient communication, rules for filling out medical forms (prescriptions, referrals, conclusions, e.t.c.).
Family medicine classes are aimed at shaping the medical attitude expected in the practice of a family doctor. Direct contact with the patient in practice gives the opportunity to learn about the epidemiology of basic medical problems and how to solve them individually.
During classes in the GP surgery, students practically use the knowledge gained in the previous years of study. Under the supervision of a specialist, they conduct a medical history and physical examination, make an initial diagnosis, and propose possible diagnostic tests and treatment. They learn the rules of keeping medical records and the rules of issuing prescriptions.
