Selected Speciality - Otolaryngology 1655-Lek6SP12-J
During lectures students will learn about general knowledge of physiology of the upper respiratory tracts which would be heplful for future pathology understanding. They will learn about embryology of the head and neck and congenital anomalies. Clinical aspects of benign and malignant tumors of the larynx, nose and paranasal sinuses, nasopharynx, pharynx, oral cavity, neck and salivary tumors will be discused. Inflammatory diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, ear and salivary glands will be presented. The aspects of diagnosis and treatment of chronic inflammation of nose and paranasal sinuses, ear, larynx, oral cavity and pharynx will be also demonstrated. The choice of method of treatment as a functional or radical surgery will be discussed for each specific case. Very inportant clinical aspects of complications of ear and paranasal infections will be considerated. The emergencies in ENT like acute bleeding, dyspnea, foreign bodies of the oesophagus, trauma, hearing loss or virtigo will be presented and discussed. Clinical aspects of cochleovestibular disorders with hearing loss and vestibular dysfunction and the ethiology will be presented.
