Family Medicine
1655-Lek6MRDZL-J
The tutorials are devoted to the analysis of the most common clinical cases in the practice of a family doctor (patients with infections, patients with diabetes, diseases of internal origin), rules of doctor-patient communication, rules for filling out medical forms (prescriptions, referrals, applications, etc.).
Family medicine classes are aimed at shaping the medical attitude expected in the practice of a family doctor and familiarizing students with the new model of primary health care based on a family doctor. Direct contact with the patient in practice gives the opportunity to learn about the epidemiology of basic medical problems and ways of individually solving them.
During classes in a family doctor's office, students practically use the knowledge acquired in previous years of study. Under the supervision of an assistant, they perform a history and physical examination, make a preliminary diagnosis, and propose possible diagnostic tests and treatment. They learn the principles of keeping medical records and the principles of issuing prescriptions. During classes with a psychologist, students learn about the principles of doctor-patient communication and the communication aspects of difficult situations in a family doctor's office.
