Elective Course - - Most Common Health Problems in the ED - Initial Differential Diagnosis and Pharmacotherapy 1655-Lek5ZF75-J
During the classes, the correct technique of performing BLS and ALS will be presented (the student will have the opportunity to practice opening the airway using an oropharyngeal tube, endotracheal intubation and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation using phantoms adapted for this purpose).
During the exercises, the student will receive medical cases to analyze, in which clinical situations will be described presenting a patient with the most common symptoms (shortness of breath, abdominal pain, disturbances of consciousness, fainting, chest pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, poisoning, fever, ionic and metabolic disorders). , then the student will analyze a given case and conduct differential diagnosis of a given condition. During this exercise, the results of laboratory and imaging tests will be presented, which the student will take into account in his reasoning. Finally, the diagnosis is made based on the data obtained during differential diagnosis.
The next element will be planning pharmacotherapy, taking into account the doses and method of drug administration in the following diseases (gout attack, pneumonia, asthma exacerbation, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal colic, fever, sciatica, drug poisoning, dehydration, fever, myocardial infarction , stroke, hypoglycemia, ketoacidosis, tetany)
Analysis of imaging tests with a description of the clinical situation in order to familiarize yourself with and practice recognizing the most common pathologies in the field of imaging tests (recognition of perforation and obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, pneumonia, pneumothorax, fluid in the pleura)
