(in Polish) U1: assist with a typical surgical procedure, prepare the surgical field and local anesthesia of the operated area (F K_U1);
U2: use basic surgical tools (F K_U2)
U3: follows the principles of asepsis and antisepsis; (F K_U03)
U4: dress a simple wound, apply and change a sterile surgical dressing (F K_U4);
U5:conducts a complete and focused physical examination of an adult patient (E K_U03) ;
U6: examine the breasts, lymph nodes, thyroid gland and abdominal cavity in terms of acute abdomen and perform a digital examination through the anus (F K_U6);
U7: inform the patient about the purpose, course and possible risk of the proposed diagnostic or therapeutic activities and obtain his or her informed consent to undertake these activities (D K_U6)
U8: can perform basic procedures and medical procedures, including:
a) measurement of body temperature, measurement of heart rate, non-invasive measurement of blood pressure,
b) monitoring vital parameters using a cardiomonitor, pulse oximetry,
c) spirometry test, oxygen treatment, assisted and substitute ventilation,
d) insertion of an oropharyngeal tube,

Teaching methods
(in Polish) seminars cover the following topics:
1. Melanoma and skin cancer. Soft tissue cancers. Surgery of the lymphatic system.
2.Principles of surgical treatment of cancer (also: intraperitoneal chemotherapy). Breast cancer.
3.Combination treatment of upper gastrointestinal cancers. Perioperative management, preparation for surgery.
4. Surgery for liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer.
5.Modern surgery for cancer of the lower digestive tract.

Prerequisites
(in Polish) Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, year I and II
A student starting education in the subject of surgical propaedeutics demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pathomorphology. and physiology of the digestive tract, skin, breast soft tissues, endocrine system, and lymphatic system. This is not tested in the form of an entrance test.
