Seminars develop skills in the use of epidemiological, demographic and statistical materials in an analysis of the population health status.

W1: Understands the importance of health, illness, disability, the social consequences of illness, knows the current concept of quality of life conditioned by the state of health. (G.W4.)
W2: Knows the concept of public health, its aims and objectives, and the structure and organisation of the healthcare system at the national and global level, as well as the impact of economic conditions on the possibilities of health protection. (G.W4)

The Student:
U1: Assesses population health problems based on available epidemiological and demographic data. Develops the epidemic chain of an infectious disease, analyzes epidemiological reports of infectious diseases subject to notification, justifies the need for preventive vaccination. (G.U1, G.U2, G.U4.)
U2: Explains the principles of health promotion, can plan preventive actions at different levels of prevention. (G.U2.)

Prerequisites
1. Study hours involving teacher participation:

Getting the credit requires:
- active involve in classes,
- theoretical preparation and correct performance of data analyses at classes with a written report.
- extended observation of social competences caring out during classes (0-10 points, passing the > 50%).
- absences must be justified and graded orally or in written form. Student should make up missing classes in a form and date appointed by coordinator of the course.
- final credit takes place after all lectures and seminars. The final credit is carried out in the form of a written test (30MCQ) covering of the lectures and seminars, passing the > 60%).
