Total student workload
Study hours involving teacher participation:
- seminars – 20 hours,

Learning outcomes - knowledge
W1: understands the current state of knowledge concerning: the social dimension of health and illness, the impact of social environment (family, social relations network) and social inequality on a person’s health, sociocultural differences, the role of social stress in health-related and self-destructive behaviours D.W1
W2: knows factors which may involve into the behaviour during being healthy or sick, including chronioc conditions
W2: knows forms of violence, models explaining violence at home and in institutions, social determinants of different forms of violence, and the role of physicians in their identification D.W3
W3: understands the significance of health, illness, disability and old age in relation to social attitudes, the social consequences of illness and disability, and sociocultural barriers; knows the concept of health-related quality of life D.W4
W4: understands the psychosocial consequences of hospitalisation and chronic illness D.W7
W5: understands the functioning of medical institutions and the social role of physicians D.W8

Students receive credit based on the result of the given presentation. Each student has to present his/her presentation during the seminars.
