During the course "Obstetrics", students take part in seminars on:
1. Ultrasonography in obstetrics, monitoring of complicated pregnancy with FGR (3 lesson hours)
2. Birth and puerperium physiological and pathological, cesarean section (3 lesson hours)
3. Basics of pregnancy pathology: hypertension in pregnancy, gestational diabetes, thyroid disease (3 lesson hours)
4. Multi-fetal pregnancy, fetal therapy (3 lesson hours)

During the classes, students can practice objective and subjective obstetric examination (phantom exercises and examination of the patient). Students actively participate in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in pregnancy. Students participate in births and obstetric surgeries. Observation of clinical cases allows students to follow the diagnosis and managementof obstetrics.

Total student workload

Hours requiring the presence of a teacher: - exercises – 18 hours, - seminars – 12 hours; Hours requiring individual student work: - preparation for classes and exam – 7 hours, - reading literature – 8 hours, Total 45 hours ( 1.8 ECTS)

Learning outcomes - knowledge

The student knows: W1 the reproductive functions of a woman, related disorders and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures concerning, in particular: 1) pregnancy, 2) physiological and pathological childbirth and puerperium, 3) basic methods of gynecological and obstetric diagnostics and procedures; (F.W9.) 4) E.W5. basic methods of fetal diagnosis and therapy;

Learning outcomes - skills

The student can: U1 recognize signs and symptoms that indicate an abnormal course of pregnancy (abnormal bleeding, uterine contractile function) (F.U13.); U2 interpret the results of the physical examination of the pregnant woman (arterial pressure, maternal and fetal heart function) and the results of laboratory tests indicating pathologies of pregnancy (F.U14.); U3 interpret the cardiotocography (CTG) record (F.U15.) ; U4. recognize the onset of labor and its abnormal duration (F.U16);. U5. interpret signs and symptoms during puerperium (F.U17);

Correction exam:
Depending on the size of the improving group - the form of credit in the form of a test or an oral form.
The head of the Clinic decides about the final form of the make-up exam.
