W2: knows the function and regulatory mechanisms of the circulatory and respiratory systems in connection to the basic clinical questions of cardiac surgery (B K_W25)
W3: understands the importance of verbal- and nonverbal communication, and confidence during the process of pre-and postoperative period interaction with the patient (D K_W04)
W4: knows and understands etiology, signs, and symptoms, diagnostics, and treatment methods of most common heart diseases, treated by heart operations, including Ischemic heart disease, congenital and acquired heart disease, pericardial, endocardial and myocardial disease, aortic disease, and heart failure (E K_W07)
Learning outcomes - skills

U2: explains the anatomic basis of the medical examination, important in the pre-and postoperative treatment of the patient (A K_U03)
U3: leads the conversation with the patient, using the technique of active listening and empathy expression, talks about the patient's life circumstances (D K_U05)
U4: collects a medical history before cardiac surgery (E K_U1)
U5: leads a full pre-and postoperative medical examination (E K_U03)
