3.4. Clinical Basis of Autotransplantation 1600-LekM11KJZPKA-J
Seminars have the task of acquiring and consolidating knowledge in the field of hematopoiesis and hematopoietic cell function. The student is introduced to the history of hematopoietic cell transplantation in the world and in Poland.
During the seminars the student will gain knowledge about the types of bone marrow transplants, the qualification procedure, disqualification and preparation of the recipient for autologous stem cell transplantation. He learns the techniques of hematopoietic cell transplantation, the procedure of autologous stem cell transplantation, principles of monitoring and assessing the patient after transplantation, and possible complications of the procedure. Principles of the functioning of hematopoietic cell banks will be presented.
Exercises are devoted to the acquisition of practical skills in bone marrow harvesting methods (trepanobiopsy, bone marrow aspiration biopsy, haematopoietic collection from umbilical cord blood).
