Gastroenterology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and digestive system. The course improves knowledge of the basic units and disease syndromes in gastroenterology, including diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas, bile ducts, liver and nutritional disorders; helps to understand the causes and symptoms of diseases, principles of diagnosis and treatment of conditions associated with gastroenterological disorders - bleeding from the digestive tract, esophageal varices, nonspecific inflammatory bowel diseases. During this course, students can observe endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), ultrasonography, manometry and pH-metry.
