Drawing (workshop)
1402-PRY-2Z-SJ
The basic topics are still life, model and landscape. Students
they make sketches and studies from nature, study shapes and their differences depending on the viewing angle (abbreviation), learn the tone and value differences, construct the illusion of a solid with the use of chiaroscuro. They learn how to compose using different types of drawing - line, stain, value, chiaroscuro, texture. They shape simplified forms - synthetic and complex, expanded with many details. They will learn different drawing techniques: charcoal, pencil, pastel, ink and brush.

Term 2022/23Z:
The basis for the drawing is the concept or idea. The student relies on examples - other drawings, reproductions and observation of the drawn object. The choice of the execution technique is also a significant matter. When drawing a head, it is worth knowing first ways to work out problems with aspect ratios depending on the angle of view. Chiaroscuro is the next issue. Sketches and studies complement each other. Studies of figures and nudes involve not only getting to know the structure of a person, but also placing them in a specific space. In still life, the issue is the space and solids of objects and them surfaces, i.e. the texture.

Teaching methods
Drawing exercises: sketches and studies of still lifes and models, outdoor sketches. All exercises are preceded by an introduction and demonstration of examples (reproductions). Students study shapes and their differences depending on the viewing angle (abbreviation), learn the tone and value differences, construct the illusion of a solid with the use of chiaroscuro. After introducing the topic and the artistic and technical problems (presentation of reproductions, materials), students perform an exercise with individual correction. From time to time there is an individual review of the exercises performed.
Short lectures and talks, multimedia presentations, master's works, and students' works made in previous years.
Consultation of any work performed outside the classroom and assigned homework.
Individual work with students, taking into account the progress in mastering specific issues.

Individual conversations with each student, allowing for better contact and enabling effective help in the event of difficulties in fulfilling the set art exercises.
