Drawing (workshop) 1402-PRY-2L-SJ

The aim of teaching this subject is to stimulate the student's curiosity and the ability to perceive the human figure and the ability to formulate an artistic expression of high technological, technical and artistic value.
The Drawing subject is carried out in the form of exercises.
The basic topic is the figure (model) in a study, naturalistic and conceptual perspective.
Each exercise is preceded by a short lecture introducing the student to a specific issue.
Students do sketches and studies from nature and keep a compulsory sketchbook that serves as a personal encyclopedia of sketches and conceptual work aid.

Basic issues:

- form, solid, shape, line, stain, plane
- open, closed, static and dynamic composition
- value, chiaroscuro
- the illusion of space on a plane
- texture, structure
- human body anatomy
- dynamic, static, simplified and complex drawing

Learning outcomes - knowledge

(in Polish) W1: Student ma gruntowną wiedzę w zakresie ogólnym i szczegółowym dotyczącą obszarów ćwiczeń rysunkowych przydatną do formułowania i kreowania złożonych zagadnień tematów z zakresu rysunku (K_W01). W2: Wykazuje głębokie zrozumienie wzajemnych relacji pomiędzy teoretycznymi i praktycznymi aspektami ćwiczeń rysunkowych, a także potrafi wykorzystywać tę wiedzę dla dalszego rozwoju (K_W03). W3: Posiada wiedzę w dziedzinie sztuk plastycznych w zakresie warsztatu artystycznego, szczególnie w przygotowaniu odpowiednich narzędzi i materiałów do konkretnej techniki rysunkowej (K_W10).

(in Polish) U1: Rozpoznaje zaawansowane rodzaje technik sztuk plastycznych - rysunkowych (K_U10). U2: Posiada umiejętności warsztatowe i potrafi zrealizować swoją pracę artystyczną w wybranej formie rysunkowej i uzasadnić wybór techniki do tematu (K_U11). U3: Potrafi wykonać dzieło artystyczne przedstawiające sylwetkę człowieka i portret w różnych konwencjach rysunkowych (K_U12).

(in Polish) K1: Ma świadomość znaczenia profesjonalizmu i konieczności przestrzegania zasad etyki zawodowej (K_K02). K2: Zna ograniczenia własnej wiedzy i umiejętności, rozumie potrzebę dalszego kształcenia oraz potrzebę włączania specjalistów z innych dziedzin do rozwiązywania szczególnie złożonych zagadnień plastycznych - rysunkowych (K_K05). K3: Potrafi pracować samodzielnie i uzasadnić swoje decyzję, ma świadomość odpowiedzialności za realizowane zadania (K_K06).

Teaching methods

Drawing exercises: - sketches and studies of the model (full figure and portrait). All exercises are preceded by an introduction and demonstration of examples (reproductions - presentations, slides). Students study shapes and their differences depending on the viewing angle (perspective shortcuts), learn the tone and value differences, the illusion of solids and space constructed with the use of chiaroscuro. After introducing the topic and the artistic and technical issues (presentation of reproductions, materials, techniques), students perform an exercise with individual correction. From time to time there is an individual review of the exercises performed. The exercises are aimed at developing the skill of observing nature and shaping its image on a plane with the help of media drawing.
