The lecture (with elements of a seminar, because students will be encouraged to be active during the lecture - e.g. questions, discussions,
coming up with their own examples) will cover the following topics:
- Subject of social psychology research
- Social influence, principles and rules and examples illustrating their operation (e.g. the rule of reciprocity, commitment and consistency,
etc.), reduction of cognitive dissonance
- Manipulation techniques and ways to defend against them
- Behavior attributions
- Group influence
- Stereotypes and prejudices
- Subject of cognitive psychology research
- Basic information about the mechanisms of visual and auditory perception
- Visual illusions
