Contact hours with teacher:
- participation in lectures - 16 hrs

- preparation for a group presentation of a given subject at the class – 20 hrs

Learning outcomes - knowledge
W1: student possesses broad knowledge about maritime legal relations and their participants, both in national and international dimension
W2: he/she is familiar with legal regime regulating common maritime contracts and liabilities relating to maritime activities
W3: he/she is acquainted with original institutions of maritime law, deriving from national laws as well as international conventions, and how they are interpreted in chosen jurisdictions
Learning outcomes - skills
U1: student has the ability to apply maritime legal norms to solve disputes in maritime relations and provide legal advice relating to maritime affairs
U2: he/she is capable of presenting speech on a given subject of maritime law, referring to international maritime conventions

K1: student shows creativity in search for problems' solutions
K2: he/she understands the need for broadening his knowledge and abilities in the area of maritime law
Teaching methods
- Expository teaching methods (participatory lecture, informative lecture, discussion)
- Exploratory teaching methods (panel, brainstorming)

Knowledge of English language sufficient enough to read and communicate on intermediate level

Assessment criteria
Assessment methods:
- Group presentation (up to 4 students) of a given issue in the course of a class / U1, U2, W1, W2, W3, K2
- Activity in discussion at the class / W2,W3, K1, K2
Assessment criteria:
Student can obtain 100 points maximum at the class, where:
1. total of 80 points can be gathered by a group presentation delivered in the course of a class (evaluated will be: material accuracy and completeness of presentation)
3. total of 20 points can be obtained by activity at the class during discussion and other activities.
Grades are appointed as follows:
fail – 0-50 pts (50% and less)
satisfactory- 51-60 pts (51%-60%)
satisfactory plus- 61-70 pts (61-70%)
good – 71-80 pts (71-80%)
good plus- 81-90 pts (81-90%)
very good- 91-100 pts (91-100%)
