Learning outcomes
1) knowledge: Students gain basic knowledge on regulations in internatinal sales law and international commercial arbitration. In particular, they are accustomed with the Convention on International Sales of Goods (CISG).
2) abilities: Students are able to identify basic problems included in a complicated case. They can use their theoretical knowledge to thoroughly and critically solve parcticular aspects of international commercial law. The are able to formulate written as well as oral memorandas in English, presenting standing of the parties to the dispute in international arbitration.
3) social competences: Students obtain social competences in making judgements on important issues, analytical thinking and reasoning. They realize the need to constantly broaden their knowledge with the benefit for them, as well as others. They correctly identify moral and ethical dilemmas in respect of conducting legal practice and decide them according to law and principles of professional ethics.
Assessment criteria
Students will be graded on basis of the paper which they will be required to provide with the end of the class. Volunteers may choose instead to perform an oral presentation of their task in a form of a moot arbitration proceeding. Additionally, solving three tasks at moodle platfom is required. Moreover, all grades will be elevated in cases of students’ voluntary activity during classes (solving tasks during classess, taking part in discussion).
