Polish and universal historiography 1202-WOW:42-S1
We will discuss the history of historiography in Poland during the Middle Ages in a broad European context. The lecture will also include hagiography, the forms and functions of annalistic writing, and chronicles ranging from Gallus to Długosz.

Bibliography
The state of research is conservative. It ignores European discussions and is very reluctant to discuss anything that might be associated with German influences or the reception of forms present in Germany. Professor Wenta is actively participating in these discussions, hence the lecture will be original in nature.
