- has basic knowledge on the political history of the Byzantine Empire in the Middle Ages and in early modern times. K_W 01, K_W 03, K_W13
- has basic knowledge about most important Byzantine emperors which reigned in Byzantium between 641 and 1453 a.d. K_W 01, K_W 03
- has basic orientation in social and economical changes which occurred in Byzantium in Middle Ages KW 04, K_W 12

Student
-is able, at a basic level, to use the research theories concerning the Byzantine Empire in Middle Ages. K_U 04
-is able to enumerate most important Byzantine emperors to sit on imperial throne between 641 till 1453 a.d. K_U 01
- is able to enumerate the Byzantine dynasties which ruled the Empire between 641 and 1453 a.d. K_U 01
- describes the roots/causes of the fall of Byzantine Empire in the 14th-15th centuries K_U 01
-acquires knowledge in a systematic and organized form under the guidance of supervisor with the use of information technology K_U 01
- formulates arguments and is capable of discussion using opinions by different authors of historical monographs K_U04, K_U09, K_U10
