The Korean War and operations within the UN.
The Vietnam War and guerrilla warfare. The role of Le Duc Tho and Henry Kissinger's negotiation policy in warfare.
The Arab-Israeli wars: decisiveness and improvisation of commanders versus "rigid" tactics.
The Cold War and proxy wars, the participation of third parties in military coordination.
France's stance on nuclear weapons in NATO.
The war in Afghanistan and the mechanisms for generating forces and their coordination in the absence of regular armies in the confrontation with the Soviet army.
Fall of the USSR
Conflicts in the Middle East: Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and the involvement of Western coalitions.
Wars of national liberation of post-colonial countries, including acts of terror. The abolition of colonialism. Conflicts triggered by acts of terror since 2000.
Contemporary military aggression.

W1 The student has organized knowledge of selected issues regarding the operation of troops throughout the ages. K_W01 W2 has mastered the basic terminology in the field of military nomenclature appropriate for a given historical period. K_W02 W3 knows the methods of operation of troops in conflicts and during operations in various historical periods. K_W03, K_W04 W4 The student has knowledge about the causes and effects of the evolution of troops and their disintegration, including the effectiveness of their operation. K_W05 W5 has in-depth knowledge of information sources; is able to independently analyze the course of the process from the growth to the disintegration of selected troops. K_W09, K_W10 W6 knows the methods and ways of translating texts on selected historical issues from at least one modern language. K_W16

Learning outcomes - skills

U1 applies acquired knowledge to discussions and research on the history of armed forces, using professional terminology. K_U07 U2 uses acquired knowledge to explain the processes and cycles of armed forces development. K_U01 U3 can analyze the evolution and disintegration of large armies and present its results in a written statement. K_U12 U4 argues and justifies their position in a scholarly discussion, drawing on their knowledge and own research and analytical experience. K_U11 U5 translates, explains, and uses source texts in a modern language used in historical sources (analysis of pacts). K_U14

Learning outcomes - social competencies

K1 expresses his/her own opinions during discussions and student academic conferences on selected issues in the history of the military and armed forces. K_K02 K2 can present his/her point of view, taking into account the views of others in the discussion. K_K04 K3 develops his/her historical interests in the field of military history. K_K08
