Basics of law 1202-A-PP-S1
Introduction to the subject: basic concepts of jurisprudence.
The concept and functions of law (knowledge about law; law as a social phenomenon; the study of law; law as a set of norms of conduct; the state – society – public authority; the state as a social organization; functions of law).
Law-making (system of law-making bodies; sources of law; the legislative process; principles of legislative technique; structure of a legal text).
Legal norms and legal provisions.
The validity and applicability of law.
The legal system.
Application of law (system of bodies applying the law; stages of law application).
Legal entities (subjects of law).
Definition and classification of administrative law norms.
Elements of the constitutional framework of administrative law (system of administrative entities, administrative apparatus) – general characteristics of selected public administration bodies.
Sources of administrative law.
Legal forms of activity of public administration; legal forms of operation of administrative bodies.

Assessment criteria
The exercises are completed with a written assessment in the form of a test available on the Moodle platform.
The test consists of 12 single-choice questions (1 point each) and 3 open-ended questions (3 points each, maximum 9 points). Learning outcomes assessed: K_W21, K_W22, K_U01, K_U14, K_U16, K_K03.
Assessment criteria for open-ended questions:
A student receives 3 points for an open-ended question for a comprehensive answer. The number of points decreases depending on the level of detail and completeness of the response.
Maximum number of points: 21
Grading scale:
21–20 points – excellent (A)
19 points – very good plus (B+)
18–16 points – very good (B)
15 points – satisfactory plus (C+)
14–11 points – satisfactory (C)
