The scope of the course covers the following topics:

2. The determinants of contemporary management
3. Managing organisation change, development and innovation
4. Total Quality Management (TQM)
5. Kaizen
6. Lean Management

8. Business Process Reengineering (BPR)
9. Outsourcing
10. Positive Organisational Scholarship and Positive Management
11. Organisational Citizenship Behaviours

Classes requiring direct participation of the teacher – lecture: 30 hrs.

W1. A student knows the nature and the evolution of management theory and its position within the system of social sciences (K_W01)
W2. A student knows, understands and considers – from the perspective of management theory – economic and social processes in organisations and their environment (including global environment), their sources, relations between them and long-term consequences (outcomes) (K_W02)
W3. A student knows, understands and considers – from the perspective of management theory – the relations between organisations and their stakeholders, the rules of developing these relations in accordance with ethical standards, CSR and development-oriented goals of an organisation (K_W03)
W4. A student knows, understands and considers – from the perspective of management theory – selected systems of legal, organisational, branch and ethical standards including their nature, roots, changes and courses of action (K_W05)
W5. A student knows the theory of human behaviours in organisations at the individual, group and organisational level (K_W06)
W6. A student knows, understands and considers – from the perspective of management theory – the principles and methods of rationalising decision making, regarding strategic decisions in particular (K_W07)

Assessment criteria
The assessment of achieving learning outcomes is based on a written examination. The scope of the examination includes the issues covered during the lectures and knowledge from reading assignments. The following assessment scale is applied:
very good (5.0) – from 92% to 100%;
good plus (4.5) – from 84% to 91%;
good (4.0) – from 76% to 83%;
satisfactory plus (3.5) – from 68% to 75%;
satisfactory (3.0) – from 60% to 67%;
fail – from 0% to 59%.
A written examination validates the achievement of learning outcomes to the following degree:
