4. Financing the investment projects: sources of long-term financing, cost of capital, Weighted Average Cost of Capital, discounted rate - W1

7. Risk in investment decisions -W1
8. Project management, planning and control – selected issues - W1

The class objective is to familiarize students with the issue of investment project management. It is orientated toward understanding of the nature of investment project and project evaluation. The class context covers the following aspects of the problem:
1. Understanding the time value of money – U1, K1.
2. Financing the investment projects – U1, K1.
3. Estimating cash flow – U1, K1.
4. Project evaluation methods– U1, K1.

1. Hours carried out with the participation of teachers: 15 hours of lectures, 15 hours of exercises, 5 hours of consultations 2. Student's individual work needed to successfully pass the course - 10 hours. 3. Time required to prepare and participate in the assessment process: - preparation for passing lectures - 15 hours. - preparation for passing exercises - 15 hours. W1: knows the concept of investment, understands the objectives of the investment process and the key areas of the investment decision, has basic knowledge of the investment appraisal methods and identifies risks associated with investments - K_W06

U1: is able to assess the efficiency of the investment project, estimate cash flows generated by the project and the cost of capital used to finance the project as well apply the basic investment appraisal methods - K_U04
