The main goal of the master's seminar is:
1. Independent preparation under the supervision of the promoter a systematic, research or application work W1, W2, W3, U1, U2, U3, K1, K2
2. Preparation for independent solving of a practical problem or for independent solution of a general problem W1, W2, U1, U2, K1, K3
3. Choosing a research topic after appropriate selection. W1, W2, U1, U2
4. Discussion on the structure of work and development of an appropriate work system K1, K2, K3
5. Selection of appropriate research methods W2
6. Searching for the relevant literature on the subject W1
7. Development of research results using appropriate methods, verification of hypotheses W1, W2, U1, U2, U3
8. Continuous cooperation with the promoter in creating the final version of the work. K1, K2, U3
9. Assessment and review of work W1, U2, U3, K1
10. Master's examination U1, U2, U3

Total student workload

Contact hours with teacher: - participation in seminar - 120 hrs - consultations - 80 hrs Self-study hours: - preparation of dissertation - 200 hrs - reading literature - 75 hrs - preparation for defence - 25 hrs Altogether: 500 hrs (20 ECTS)

Learning outcomes - knowledge

W1. Gaining knowledge on the discipline of finance in the area used in the thesis K_W01. W2. Gaining knowledge of modern methods and tools used when writing a thesis K_W06. W3. Gaining knowledge in the field of intellectual property and copyrights K_W09.

Learning outcomes - skills

U1. Acquiring the ability to analyze, interpret and explain economic phenomena, considering the economic and financial conditions K_U01. U2. Developing the ability to analyze the causes, terms and effects of financial phenomena, to formulate simple research hypotheses and to verify them K_U02. U3. Acquiring the ability to create typical written works and preparation of speeches in English in the field finance and accounting K_U09.

Learning outcomes - social competencies

K1: is ready to critically assess his/her own knowledge in the field related to the subject of the master's thesis and cooperate with the supervisor during its preparation [K_K01] K2: ready to perform the assigned tasks while respecting applicable ethical principles and is aware of the high ethical standards of the prepared works [K_K02]. K3: is ready to act in an organized, reliable and responsible manner, bearing in mind the good of the social group in which he/she functions [K_K03].

Semester II - developing two chapters of work
Semester III - preparation and submission of a complete thesis.
