Polymer processing and recycling
0600-SP/W-EN-PPR
The Lecture covers the following topics:
Introduction to polymer materials including basic description of polymer synthesis. Due course of the lecture import issues concerning polymer structure will be discussed. Substantial part of the lecture will be devoted to description of basics of polymer processing, which will be continued and more thoroughly treated during extensive lab course.
The laboratory covers following topics:
Color testing in polymer analysis
Thermal shrinkability of polymer films
Thermoforming of new packaging dedicated to yoghurts
Analysis of Vicat softening temperature
Mechanical recycling of polyolefins and poly(ethylene terephthalate)
