Classes in the form of workshops will cover the development of the following competences: taking responsibility, striving for development as well as ethics and professionalism.
Classes on taking responsibility will include a discussion of the current situation on the labor market, information on job offers and apprenticeships, employers' requirements for potential candidates, exemplary career paths based on the study of graduates, opportunities for further development, rules for preparing application documents and ways to look for a job.
Thanks to the presentation and exercises, students will develop the ability to make real commitments, predict the consequences of actions in the context of building their career path, they will acquire the ability to take personal responsibility for their professional future.
During the part of the classes on striving for development, the following elements will be discussed: Professional Competence Model, identifying strengths and weaknesses in terms of professional goals, and the rules of preparing a CV and cover letter based on one's own professional competences in the context of a selected professional goal. Thanks to a variety of exercises (individual, in pairs, discussions and tests), students will recognize their strengths and weaknesses, discover their own personality type and preferred work environment. All this will allow students to specify their professional goals in terms of professional predispositions and expectations of employers. Students will practice in practice the preparation of application documents for a given position. Participation in the exercises will also allow students to develop the ability to seek opportunities to gain new knowledge and experience, to be open to new tasks, to analyze their own successes and failures, and to use the experience of others.
The last part of the course, developing both the above-mentioned competences and mainly ethics and professionalism, will include a discussion of the job interview. In role-plays and individual and group tasks, students will practice the elements of self-presentation during the recruitment interview (body language, appearance, voice, answering the employer's questions, coping with stress during the interview and negotiating remuneration). Thanks to the classes, they will learn how to build their own credibility, be honest and truthful, and how to present their consistency with the company's values and work standards during the interview.
