Lectures
Cover the following issues: Best Available Techniques (BAT) in producing inorganic compounds. Waste-free technologies. Comprehensive use of mineral resources and waste management. Treatment and use of water for municipal, consumption and industrial purposes. Wastewater treatment. Environmental effects of production and use of mineral fertilizers. "Green Chemistry" - selected topics. New materials. Modern energy sources. Alternative fuels. Eco-friendly packaging in the cosmetics industry. Natural, biological and ecological cosmetics. Recycling of cosmetic products.
Laboratory
Production and analysis of biofuels. Preparation and properties of carbon sorbents. Removal of contaminants from aqueous solutions by adsorption. Disposal of liquid waste from the Solvay method. Water technology and treatment. Salt solubility testing in ternary systems. Leaching of solid waste in acidic and alkaline environments. Catalytic processes. Electrochemical regeneration of metals.

Assessment criteria:
Lecture: Final work in the form of a paper, exam - W1, W2, U1, K3.
Laboratory: continuous assessment (preparation and passing reports on exercises performed, ongoing preparation for classes and activity) – W2, W3, U2, U3, U4, K2; participation in classes – K1.
The thresholds are assessed in accordance with the regulations of the NCU.
Required thresholds for a satisfactory grade - 50-60%, sufficient plus - 61-65%, good 66-75%, good plus 76-81%, very good - 82-100%
