Diploma work II r. 0600-S2-ChK-MGR2

The seminar is focused on:
- presentation of knowledge necessary for thesis preparation
- improvement of skills in writing thesis with formal requirements and merits min cosmetic chemistry,
- information about authors property rights
- improvement of ability for work in group under supervision
- improvement of ability to search and use information needed for master thesis preparation
Each student shows two presentations:
1. Presentation about theoretical part of the thesis
2. Presentation about the results and experimental part of the thesis
After each presentation it is open discussion of all participants about the merits of the presentation and its quality.
Master's Laboratory: preparation for the implementation of the master's thesis within the following subjects according to the theme of department where the work is carried out.

Total student workload

1. 30hrs seminar, 30 contact with a teacher 2. 60hrs laboratory, 60 contact with a teacher 2. 400rsh individual work for thesis 3. 260hrs time required for writing and preparation for assessment 4. total time of student work 750hrs 750h:25ECTS/H = 30 ECTS30

Learning outcomes - knowledge

W1: Student possesses broad knowledge about scientific subject in the area of his/her thesis, knows the basic literature about the topic of the thesis - K_W01, K_W02 (K_W03, K_W05, K_W09, K_W14, K-_W15)

Learning outcomes - skills

U1: Student is able to use the broad knowledge about cosmetic chemistry and use them for preparation of the thesis - K_U01 U2: Student is able to search information in scientific journals and common journals, in the data base in Polish and English languages - K_U08 (K_U03-K_U07, K_U11-K_U14)

Learning outcomes - social competencies

K1: Student knows about limitation of his/her knowledge and understands the need of further learning; student is capable to start new learning process to make the knowledge deeper - K_K01 K2: Student is able to show his/her opinion about basic topics in cosmetic chemistry and new achievements - K_K07 K3: Student works systematically to get the target- K_K06 K4: Student is able to work to get the target, is able to undertake key decisions, is capable to use scientific literature - K_K07

Teaching methods

Those activities are focused on conversation between participants and multimedia presentations about the topics of their master thesis and results obtained during the thesis preparation laboratory work

Prerequisites

Credits got for subjects in Cosmetic chemistry, basic skills to solve the problems, knowledge about preparation of multimedia presentations, ability to present results and work in group

Assessment criteria

Student is assessed and gets the mark according to his/her achievements. There are main components of the mark: quality of the presentation, participation in discussions and ability to writing a thesis.
Laboratory assessment: working on experiments, mastery of resarching techniques, preparing the workplace
diploma exam
