Elements of the pharmaceutical chemistry 0600-S2-ChK-EChF

Lectures
The lectures will discuss the elements of pharmaceutical chemistry, with particular emphasis on the active substances used in cosmetic formulations.
The lectures will include:
1. The origins of medical and pharmaceutical chemistry.
2. Concept of biological and pharmacological activity of a substance, linking structure with activity.
3. Molecular mechanisms of action of the active substances, receptors, changes in receptor reactivity; molecule carriers, enzymes.
4. Drug metabolism
Prodrugs and transport systems
6. Methods for the search for new active substances: without and with the leading structure.

Total student workload

1. 30 h lecture ie 30 h contact, 2. 30 h individual work, 30 hours required for preparation in the assessment process, 4. Total student workload is 90h

Learning outcomes - knowledge

W1: Has knowledge of construction, properties, metabolism and structure of active compounds, aesthetic dermatology and cosmetology K_W09, K_W10 W2: Has theoretical and practical knowledge of modern methods of synthesis of biologically active compounds and their identification K_W03 W3: He knows the skin and its appendages and knows the rules for their care K_W09 W4: knows and understands the chemical and biochemical mechanisms of action of chemical compounds used as active substances K_W10 W4: knows the chemical compounds used as active substances with respect to the international nomenclature and the synonym names K_W10

U1: Can use the extended knowledge of basic chemistry departments and creatively use it in the field of cosmetic chemistry or household chemistry. - K_U01 U2: Can explain the properties of the active substance based on the structure and mechanism of action, assign it to the appropriate group and exchange the possibility of modifying it. - K_U10 U3: can assess the influence of physicochemical and chemical properties of compounds on their metabolism and toxicity K_U10
