Criminalistics and the basis of the criminal processes 0600-S2-CKR-KPPK
Lecture:
The subject of criminalistics and the basics of criminal procedure is to familiarize students with the science of forensics in general - its subject, history and connections with other areas of law. During the lecture, special emphasis is placed on learning the tactics and techniques of criminalistics in the implementation of the most important procedural and forensic activities, such as: questioning, production, search, inspection and procedural experiment. The student learns about the sources and means of evidence and the ambiguity of the concept of evidence, including the location of court expert opinions in the system of evidence used in criminal and civil proceedings. Attention is drawn to the importance of forensic versions in planning and implementing individual evidentiary activities. In the scope of issues related to questioning, the student learns about the importance of specific forms of questioning, including those of identification significance - production and reconstruction of a person's appearance. In terms of the basics of criminal procedure, the student is to familiarize themselves with the principles of criminal procedure, the parties to the proceedings, etc.
Laboratories:
During laboratory exercises, students become familiar with the issues of identification, individual methods of identifying forensic traces (biological, fingerprint, osmological, traceological, mechanoscopic, phonoscopic, handwriting, etc.), their disclosure, the specifics of handling different types of forensic traces and drawing conclusions. Particular emphasis is placed on the identification of humans, animals and other organisms based on the biological traces they leave behind. Students also become familiar with firearms and traces of their use and methods of identifying different types of firearms. During forensic polygraphy classes, they have the opportunity to observe first-hand the reaction of the examined person's body to individual tests.

Assessment criteria
Lecture: Exam in the form of open questions: for a satisfactory grade, the student must answer 60-70% of the questions, for a satisfactory plus grade - 71-80%, for a good grade - 81-87%, for a good plus grade - 88-94%, for a very good grade - over 94%.
Laboratory classes: Passing individual thematic blocks of laboratory classes (completed tasks are assessed) and a final colloquium in the form of a test.
In terms of knowledge and skills: passing individual thematic blocks of classes and a final colloquium: for a satisfactory grade, the student must correctly complete 60-70% of the tasks, for a satisfactory plus grade - 71-80%, for a good grade - 81-87%, for a good plus grade - 88-94%, for a very good grade - over 94%.
In terms of social competences: the student's activity during classes and their commitment as well as teamwork are assessed. Grade on a 2-5 scale.
Final grade for laboratory classes: the average of the grades obtained in classes and the grade for the final colloquium (test).
