The lecture will focus on the following topics:
- Definitions and function of packaging
- Types of packaging and their possibilities of use in various industries.
- Development trends and prospects in the field of packaging.
- Principles of labeling packaging, monitoring changes and the process of accepting packaging after changes.
- Principles of assessing the quality of packaging materials and packaging.
- Discussion of the most important packaging classification systems
- Production of corrugated cardboard and cardboard packaging
- Plastic packaging, production methods, quality requirements, recycling
Laboratory:
- Protection of cosmetic products made of polymer foils, guarantees of tightness, information about the lack of prior opening, control of the amount of foil used in the closing process,
- Types of polymer welds. Determining the force necessary to break the weld,
- CIE LAB model - analysis of colorimetric parameters such as color difference, yellowness and whiteness index,
- Assessment of printability on potential polymer packaging materials. Hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties of polymers.
- Comparative assessment of the behavior of various materials at elevated temperature under load at a specific rate of temperature increase.
-Thermoforming as one of the methods of obtaining cosmetic packaging
- mechanical recycling of cosmetic packaging - execution of individual stages,
- Introducing additives to polymers in the processing process
- Preparation of a final presentation

U1 The student is able to safely conduct the experiment according to the indications K_U01, K_U03, K_U11 U2. The student is able to change the properties of the packaging from hydrophobic to hydrophilic and assess the value of the surface energy of the activated foil K_U01, K_U03, K_U11 U3. The student is able to prepare a polymer blends with a coloring concentrate using the extruder system intended for obtaining cosmetic packaging K_U01, K_U03, K_U11, U4. The student is able to determine the degree of shrinkage of foil intended for securing cosmetic packaging in accordance with applicable standards. K_U01, K_U03, K_U11 U5. The student is able to obtain cosmetic containers using the thermoforming method K_U01, K_U03, K_U11, U6. The student is able to determine the temperature range of packaging use by analyzing the softening point according to. Vicata K_U01, K_U03, K_U11 U7. The student is able to examine and calculate the sealing strength of the packaging used for cosmetics K_U01, K_U03, K_U11
