2. Determination of number-average molecular weight of homo- and heteropolycondensational polyesters by means of the end-groups method. Acid value (AV) and hydroxyl value (HV).
3. Surface and film-forming properties of polymers.
4. Research methods of polymers in solid state
5. Basics of polymer degradation. Biodegradability of polymers.
6. Polymeric packaging for the cosmetic industry.
7. Characterization of polyelectrolytes.
8. Poly(vinyl alcohol) – synthesis, properties, behavior and application in cosmetics.
9. Poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) – synthesis, properties, behavior and application in cosmetics.
10. Poly(acrylic acid) and poly(methacrylic acid) – synthesis, properties, behavior and application in cosmetics
12. Polysiloxanes – synthesis, properties and application in cosmetics.
13. Poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(ethylene glycol) – synthesis, properties, behavior and application in cosmetics.
Laboratory:
1. Determination of LVN and viscosity-average molecular weight of poly (N-vinylpyrrolidone).
2. Determination of AV, HV and number-average molecular weight of oligomers.
3. Determination of concentration of poly(methacrylic acid) by means of pH-meter titration and in the presence of indicators.
4. Determination of LVN of poly(methacrylic acid).
5. Solubility parameter; investigation of solubility of poly(vinyl alcohol) in mixtures of solvent and non-solvent
(water+n-propanol).
6. Determination of degree of hydrolysis of poly(vinyl alcohol).
